In accordance with "Roadmap towards Restoration from the Accident at
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station" published on April 17th, we
have commenced a preparation work since May 13th for the installation
of a cover for the reactor building of Unit 1, Fukushima Daiichi
Nuclear Power Station to prevent the diffusion of radioactive
substances.
(Previously announced on May 13th)
We have finished compiling the covering plan for the reactor building
and hereby announce the outline as attached. The work for main
construction in the site will be commenced on June 27th.
Currently, we are proceeding with constructions below as a preparation
for the main construction.
1. Tentative assembling of unitized materials at Onahama port in
preparation for the work in the site. (Scheduled from June 13th to
July 21st)
2. Assembly of crawler cranes (2 large heavy machineries) in the site
(Shallow Draft Quay) (Scheduled from June 12th to July 6th)
We plan to start removing rubbles and structural objects around the
building and prepare working area as a preparation work for the
installation of covers on Unit 3 and 4 at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear
Power Station from late June.
