We demonstrate the reliability and stable operation of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) cable in grid.
・The merits of HTS cable are its compactness and large power capacity. Utilization of HTS cable will bring us reductions in construction costs and improvements in transmission efficiency. In 2013, we completed an in grid demonstration of HTS cable, which had worked continuously for more than 1 year. After 2014, we plan to carry out an in grid demonstration of HTS cable again, after exchanging the cooling system for high efficiency facilities.
