TEPCO established the “Distribution Equipment Engineering Center” as a technical organization for distribution equipment in 1998. The center uses its 48 test devices to perform the work shown below.
- • Quality control
- Check and evaluate the quality of equipment for purchase using documents from manufacturers, inspection of manufacturers, and in-house tests.
- • Troubleshooting
- Investigate causes and establish countermeasures.
Operate the “Distribution Equipment Failure Statistics System” in which all issues are registered. - • Cost reduction
- Establish/revise equipment re-use and maintenance methods.
Propose revisions of equipment specifications. - • Personnel training
- Provide training at the center on troubleshooting and maintenance techniques for technical employees in the trainee educational program.
TEPCO provides consultancy services such as rental of our test devices, outsourced testing, and consultation on equipment technology at this center.
