Spurred into action by the two oil crises, TEPCO has striven to become more energy-secure by, for instance, diversifying both the types of energy and their points of import as far as possible. As a result of its efforts, there has been a reduction in oil dependency, thanks to the well-balanced combination of hydroelectric power, liquefied natural gas (LNG) power, and nuclear power that are now provided.
TEPCO is committed to promoting a "best mix" power generation while taking thorough account of a whole host of different factors such as the stability of fuel provision, compliance with environmental standards, safety, and the characteristics of power generation facilities.
