Alarm went off at the dust monitor installed at the main gate of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Follow-up Report 3)

At 3:55 PM today (April 3), an alarm went off indicating high radioactive concentration at the continuous dust monitor installed at the main gate of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The alarm indicates radioactive concentration has exceeded 1×10-4Bq/cm3 (half the level of the full-face mask wearing standard at Fukushima Daiichi NPS).

We judged that the cause was the equipment failure, after confirming the previous announced result of the dust sampling (below detection limit, 5.4×10-6Bq/cm3) and the result of the newly replaced equipment (1.8×10-5Bq/cm3).
The updates on the incident are provided below.

The filter paper of the concerned continuous dust monitor was taken to nuclide analysis. As a result, no significant nuclide was detected, and no radioactive material was collected.
