Alarm went off at the dust monitor installed at the main gate of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Follow-up Report 2)

At 3:55 PM today (April 3), an alarm went off indicating high radioactive concentration at the continuous dust monitor installed at the main gate of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The alarm indicated radiation concentration exceeded 1×10-4Bq/cm3 (half the level of the full-face mask wearing standard at Fukushima Daiichi NPS).The updates on the incident are provided below.

We judged that the cause was the equipment failure, after confirming the previous announced result of the dust sampling (below detection limit, 5.4×10-6Bq/cm3) and the result of the newly replaced equipment (1.8×10-5Bq/cm3).

The instruction that had been given in the power station to put on full-face mask was retracted at 8:10 PM.
