Today, we have concluded an "Environment Protection Agreement" with Fukushima Prefecture and Hirono Town as below regarding the prevention of environmental pollution accompanying the construction of Unit 6 at Hirono Thermal Power Station which is planned to commence operation in December 2013.

3. Overview of Unit 6 at Hirono Thermal Power Station
- Output: 600MW
- Fuel: Coal
- Construction commencement: December 1, 2008
- Operational commencement: Planned in December 2013
4. Contents of the agreement
- Unit 6 has been added onto the existing agreement.
- The regulations of exhaust smoke concentration, etc. applied to Unit 5 (of the same specifications) will be applied to Unit 6.
- For Units 5 and 6, measures to reduce the exhaust smoke concentration such as introducing high performance fuel gas desulfurization equipment are being implemented.
