Due to the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake which occurred on March 11, 2011, TEPCO’s facilities including our nuclear power stations have been severely damaged. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and inconvenience caused.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, on April 17, 2011, we have compiled the roadmap towards restoration from the accident and on July 19 we accomplished the Step1 target “Radiation dose is in steady decline”. Then on December 16 we confirmed the accomplishment of the Step 2 target “Release of radioactive materials is under control and radiation doses are being significantly held down”.
In addition, on December 21, 2011, we have compiled the "Mid-to-long-Term Roadmap toward the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4, TEPCO".
In addition to the maintenance of the plant's stable condition, we will implement Mid-to-Long Term countermeasures towards the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4 to enable evacuees to return to their homes as soon as possible and reduce the anxiety of the people in Fukushima and the whole nation as soon as possible.
Below is the status of TEPCO's nuclear power stations (Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Daini).

[Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station]
･ Unit 1 to 4: Abolishment (April 19, 2012)
･ Unit 5 to 6: Outage due to regular inspections before the earthquake
-At 9:50 AM on October 18, we started transferring the accumulated water from the On-site Bunker Building to the Process Main Building. At 4:46 PM on the same day, the transfer was stopped.
-At 4:05 PM on October 18, the reactor injection water amounts at Unit 1 and 2 were adjusted as follows since the amounts had decreased.
[Unit 1] Feed water system: Increased from approx. 2.6m3/h to approx. 3.0m3/h, Reactor core spray system: Maintained at approx. 2.0m3/h.
[Unit 2] Feed water system: Maintained at approx. 2.0m3/h, Reactor core spray system: Increased from approx. 4.3m3/h to approx. 4.5m3/h.
-At 3:53 PM on October 18, the second cesium absorption apparatus was stopped as the air operated valve of the filter was closed. Since no problem was found with the apparatus upon site investigation, the apparatus was restarted at 5:18 PM and the steady flow rate was achieved at 5:21 PM on the same day. The incident was caused by incorrect operation by a TEPCO employee (accidentally closed the valve while operating the control panel for a regular data collection and the booster pump was stopped as the interlock function was activated to protect the apparatus). For recurrence prevention, TEPCO employees in charge of data collection will be retrained in proper data collection procedure (the protection cover installed on the control panel must be kept closed).
-At around 10:59 AM on October 19, 2012, a TEPCO employee on patrol found a fire occurring near Unit 1-2 ultrahigh voltage switchyard* (outdoor) at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The fire was reported to the fire department at 11:02 AM. The employee performed a first-aid fire fighting and the fire was confirmed to have been put out at 11:12 AM. As a result of site investigation by the fire department, the fire was confirmed to be extinguished at 12:07 PM. The area affected by the fire is estimated to be approx. 20m x approx. 34m. The cause of the fire will be investigated. There was no injury due to the fire and no significant change has been found with the monitoring post data and plant condition.

Facility used for transmitting the power generated in Units 1 and 2 to the power transmission system, which is currently not in use.
