We deeply apologize to the people of Fukushima and broader society for the tremendous inconvenience and anxiety caused by the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. We also would like to apologize for placing heavy burden on our customers' daily lives and business activities by requesting an electricity rate raise under the current severe economic situation.
Since March 11, 2011, the special measures for electricity bills have been applied upon request to our customers eligible for receiving compensation who evacuated from the evacuation zone in accordance with the Act on Special Measures Concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness (Previously announced on September 30, December 26, 2011 and March 26, 2012). For the purpose of reducing burden on these customers until the compensation is paid out, the special measures will be partially changed. Our request to add supply conditions not included in the supply provisions developed based on the proviso of Article 21, paragraph 1 of the Electricity Business Act (Special Measures for Electricity Bills Applied to the Customers Eligible for Compensation who Evacuated from the Evacuation Zone in Accordance to the Act on Special Measures Concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness) submitted to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry has been approved today.
