After the earthquake on March 11, 2011, gas turbine power generation equipments (334MW x 3 = Total output: 1,002MW) have been installed at Chiba Thermal Power Station in order to ensure stable power supply. All 3 equipments are now in commercial operation as Unit 3-3 has started its operation today. Unit 3-1 and 3-2 started commercial operation on August 28, 2011 and September 9, 2011.
The newly installed gas turbine power generation equipments will be replaced with combined cycle power generation equipments by July 2014, which will be utilized as constant power supply with the total output power of 1,500MW (500MW x 3) and the thermal efficiency of approx. 58%.
We will make our best effort in securing stable power supply as well as ensuring safe operation and maintenance of power facilities.
