Due to the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake which occurred on March 11, 2011, TEPCO's facilities including our nuclear power stations have been severely damaged. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and inconvenience caused.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, on April 17, 2011, we have compiled the roadmap towards restoration from the accident and on July 19 we accomplished the Step1 target "Radiation dose is in steady decline". Then on December 16 we confirmed the accomplishment of the Step 2 target "Release of radioactive materials is under control and radiation doses are being significantly held down".
In addition, on December 21, 2011, we have compiled the "Mid-to-long-Term Roadmap toward the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4, TEPCO".
In addition to the maintenance of the plant's stable condition, we will implement Mid-to-Long Term countermeasures towards the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4 to enable evacuees to return to their homes as soon as possible and reduce the anxiety of the people in Fukushima and the whole nation as soon as possible.
Below is the status of TEPCO's nuclear power stations (Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Daini).

[Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station]
· Unit 1 to 4: Abolishment (April 19, 2012)
· Unit 5 to 6: Outage due to regular inspections before the earthquake
- At 10:14AM on June 26, we started transferring the accumulated water from Unit3 Turbine Building basement to the Central Radioactive Waste Treatment Facility (Miscellaneous Solid Waste Volume Reduction Treatment Building [High Temperature Incinerator Building]). At 9:50AM on July 4, we stopped transferring.
- On July 2, during the investigation of tanks to check those conditions at Unit 2 Waste Underground Storage Facility Building, the accumulated water was confirmed in the Spent Resin Storage Tank room. The dose rate in this building was confirmed as 0.8mSv/h at the upper side of the tank and 20mSv/h or more at the position of 60cm above the water level. Subsequently, the nuclide analysis on the accumulated water in the Spent Resin Storage Tank room was conducted, and it was confirmed that the total density of γnuclides was 1.2 x 102Bq/m3. This accumulated water is considered to be highly-concentrative contaminated water which was diluted with influent ground water and others. As for the contaminated water, it is considered that the highly-concentrative contaminated water has flown into the basement of the Waste Underground Storage Facility Building by way of Unit 2 Waste Treatment Building because both two buildings are connected and the accumulated water level is almost same as the water level in the Turbine Building or the Waste Treatment Building. In addition, the ground water is considered to have flown into the building from the gap around the pipes penetrating, through the slight space between the two buildings. There is no possibility of flowing to the outside area because the groundwater level is higher than the water level in this building.
