On December 12, 2011, we received a directive document*1 "Regarding the revision of the technical specification based upon the evaluation result of the facility management plan of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station" from NISA (Press release issued on December 12, 2011).
In accordance with this direction, we have requested NISA to approve the changes to our current technical specification for the nuclear reactor facility*2 at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in order to incorporate updates such as equipment installations and restorations on May 11, 2012.
Provided below is the outline of proposed changes.
- As the evaluation of "Report with regard to the facility operation plan based on "Policy on the mid term security" for Units 1 to 4 of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Part 2 & Part 3)" has been completed, Chapter 12 of the technical specification will be revised subject to this document.
- The installation of PCV gas control systems in Reactors 2 and 3 has enabled the continuous monitoring of short-half-life nuclides utilizing a radiation detector. Also, the Reactor 4 diesel generator (B system) has been restored and is in stand-by operation as emergency power supply. Therefore, the technical specification will be revised.
- Technical specification provisions in Chapter 12 will be optimized to reflect the actual equipment usage at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.
(Press release issued on May 11, 2012).
We announce that the above changes to the Technical Specification for the Nuclear Reactor Facility at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station have been approved by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
