For those afflicted by the windstorm occurred on May 6, special conditions for electricity bill payment (which are not stipulated in the General Supply Provisions) have been established in accordance with the proviso of Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Electricity Business Act upon the approval from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Details are given below.

Upon customers' request, the measures come into effect for those who were afflicted by the windstorm on May 6, 2012 in the following areas.
Areas where the Disaster Relief Act is applied
Tochigi prefecture: Moka city, Haga district (Motegi-machi and Mashiko-machi)
Ibaraki prefecture: Tsukuba city, Hitachiomiya city, Chikusei city, Sakuragawa city
Areas adjacent to the above areas
Tochigi prefecture: Utsunomiya city, Oyama city, Nasukarasuyama city, Shimotsuke city, Kawachi district (Kaminokawa-machi), Haga district (Ichikai-machi and Haga-machi), Nasu district (Nakagawa-machi)
Ibaraki prefecture: Tsuchiura city, Ishioka city, Yuki city, Ryugasaki city, Shimotsuma city, Joso city, Hitachiota city, Kasama city, Ushiku city, Naka city, Tsukubamirai city, Higashi-ibaraki district (Shirosato-machi), Kuji district (Daigo-machi), Yuki district (Yachiyo-machi)

1. One-month extension on electricity bill payment
The payment date of the electricity bills for April*, May and June 2012 will be extended for one month (30 days after the meter reading).
*For April, the designated payment date must be May 6 and later.
2. Electricity bill exemption for the months with no electricity usage
In the case that no electricity is used from the time of the disaster, the electricity bill will be exempted for 6 months starting from the month after the disaster occurred.
3. Construction fee exemption
In the case that no electricity is used from the time of the disaster and a new contract is signed by the end of November 2012, the construction fee will be exempted.
4. Construction fee exemption for temporary electricity usage
In the case that customers sign up for temporary electricity usage by the end of November 2012, the construction fee will be exempted.
5. Basic fee exemption for the electric equipments unavailable due to the disaster
In the case that electric equipments become temporarily unavailable due to the disaster, the basic fee for these equipments will be exempted up until the end of November 2012.
6. Meter installation fee exemption
In the case of changing the installation position of lead-in wire, meter, etc. by the end of November 2012, the initial installation fee will be exempted.
