At around 12:42 pm on March 27, 2012, during the work to receive samples (water) for performance verification test of ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System) which were carried in from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, at Service Building of Unit 3 and 4 of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station, our employee has found the pollution due to radioactive materials on the table next to the small monitor in the check point to check the pollution of the goods when leaving controlled area (uncontrolled area*1).
On the same day, we have received an instruction*2 "Collecting the report regarding transportation of the sampling water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station" from the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Based on this instruction, we conducted the investigation about the samples (water) for analysis which were carried in from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and about the transportation and summarized the results. On March 30, we submitted the report to NISA.
On April 3, 2012, we received an instruction document from NISA titled "Response to non-conformity of technical standards regarding transportation of the sampling water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station" *3 and an instruction document from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) titled "Collection of the report regarding transportation of the sampling water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station" *4. Based on these instructions, the investigation on the transportation of sampling water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station was conducted. We drew up the result of the investigation and submit reports to NISA and MLIT on April 13.
(Announced on March 27, March 30, April 3, and April 13, 2012)
Because this event falls on the subjects which need reporting based on the rule concerning the installment, operation, etc. of practical reactors (17 of Article 19), we drew up the result of the investigation on the contamination in the non-managed area reported to NISA today.

*1 uncontrolled area
Uncontrolled area is an area where control is necessary to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation and to prevent expansion of the radioactive pollution by radioactive materials and it is outside the controlled area.
