Power Supply to the Kyushu Electric Power Company
Upon receiving the Kyushu Electric Power Company's request via the Electric 
Power System Council of Japan (ESCJ) for the power supply in order to 
respond to Kyushu Electric Power Company's thermal power plant stop, TEPCO 
provided power supply to Kyushu Electric Power Company up to 500 MW from 
7:00 to 9:00 today in the form of Power Interchange while considering its 
own power demand-supply balance. 

This operation has any negative impact in the power supply in TEPCO's 
service area. 

Todays demand forecast in TEPCO service area

Power interchange conduced between electric power companies in order to 
secure the stable power supply as a nation in case of the power supply 
failure due to accident or demand-supply gap at the time of sharp demand 
increase. 
ESCJ takes a role as an agent in coordinating the power interchange. The 
electric power company asking for the additional power supply makes 
application for ESCJ. ESCJ then coordinate with other electric power 
companies who are capable of supplying power.
