We have been examined, for the purpose of establishing scheme of "Smart
Setsuden (Power Saving)" which correspond to timely demand reduction rather
than permanent reduction as one of the countermeasure of peak demand
reduction and now we will commence demonstration test with "Smart Setsuden
(Power Saving) Association" (the Association) which was established by
major companies in various industries.
We appreciate significant support for the last summer such as shifting
setting temperature of air conditioning, thinning the lighting and
operation shift, on the other hand, we received many arguments saying
"Power saving activities last year were very hard to prepare and suffered
many strain as it last long".
In accordance with those opinions, the Association was established last
December as a study meeting comprised of 9 industrial electricity customers
such as office buildings, logistics and schools (the partners) with TEPCO
and will examine efficient demand reduction scheme by mutually
communicating demand load situation between the partners and TEPCO.
The description of demonstrating test which commence from early February
will be examination of efficient power saving method by using automated
facility control system to limit operation of selected lightings and air
conditioners in accordance with the electricity use of the facilities. And
further, upon the request from TEPCO, determine reducing demand of each
facility and establish scheme of "Smart Setsuden (Power Saving)" together
with the partners.
The examination of the Association will continue until the end of March and
issues and knowledge gained will be reduced to establish generally
acceptable scheme of "Smart Setsuden (Power Saving)" and will be utilized
to the peak demand countermeasure for the summer 2012.
