Press Release (Apr 13,2012)
Report to NISA upon the additional directive document regarding the leak of water containing radioactive material from the water desalination apparatus(evaporative concentration apparatus) of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (Update)

Regarding the event which leakage of water containing radioactive materials at the water desalination apparatus (evaporative concentration apparatus) of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station on December 4, we have received the directive document*1 from NISA of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry "Regarding Response to Leakage of Water Containing Radioactive Materials from Evaporation Concentration Device at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Direction)".
We have reported to NISA regarding the result (provisional) of the evaluation on the outflow of water containing radioactive materials into the sea which was leaked from the water desalination apparatus (evaporative concentration apparatus) on December 6. We also reported to NISA regarding the cause of the leakage, measures for the recurrence prevention and investigation of the soundness of other facilities on December 8.
Thereafter, we received the additional directive document*2 from NISA "Regarding Response to Report on Leakage of Water Containing Radioactive Materials from Evaporation Concentration Device at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Direction)" on December 12.
In addition, we received the document*3, "Enforcement of the Measures for the Leaking Water including the Radioactive Material from the Evaporation Concentration Device in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Stern Warning)" from NISA on December 13.

(Previously announced on December 5, 6, 8, 12 and 13,2011)

On January 31, 2012, we reported to NISA regarding the situation of measures for the leaking water and reinforcement of the monitoring of the leaking, and re-evaluation of the influence to the ocean based on the Directions.

(Previously announced on January 31, 2012)

As for the environmental assessment of the ocean, since the ascertainment of the condition for radioactive material’s diffusion is not enough, we planed to submit the final report of the monitoring results reflecting the additional analysis results by April 13. Today we reported it to NISA.
