Further to the full-scale operation of the PCV gas control system at Unit
1, Fukushima Daiichi NPS and completion of Step 2 "Roadmap towards
Restoration from the Accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station,
TEPCO" , in order to set out the operation of the PCV gas control system,
Unit 1 and amend the job allocation of the Fukushima Daiichi Stabilization
Center, on December 22, 2011, we submitted the application for the
amendment to the Safety Regulations for Nuclear Reactor Facilities* of
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to NISA.
The outline of the amendment is as below:
○ Prescribes the operation rules of PCV gas control system, Unit 1 after
the radiation detector in PCV gas control system enables the continuous
monitoring of the short half-life radionuclide.
○ Changes the job allocation at Fukushima Daiichi Stabilization Center
further to the completion of Step 2 "Roadmap towards Restoration from
the Accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, TEPCO"
(Previously announced on December 22, 2011)
Subsequently, after evaluation by the government, we received the approval
of the amendment to the Safety Regulations for Nuclear Reactor Facilities
of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant from the Minister of Economy,
Trade and Industry today.

As per Article 37 Clause 1 of the Law on the Regulation of Nuclear
Source Material, Nuclear Fuel Material and Reactors, this sets forth the
basic matters for person who establishes the nuclear reactor to safely
operate the nuclear power station (operation management, fuel management,
radiation management, emergency procedures, etc.) and approved by the
government.
