Regarding the event that the Japan Power Engineering and Inspection
Corporation (hereinafter, "JAPEIC") did not handle a part of the welding
company inspection*1 appropriately in replacing the secondary piping system
of Genkai Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 of the Kyushu Electric Power Company,
we have received the document*2 titled "Regarding the event that the part
of the welding company inspection has not been conducted (Remainder and
direction)" from NISA today.
In accordance with the direction, we will investigate the items that have
not been conducted, concerning the welding company inspection of which
JAPEIC conducted as the subcontractor in the past, and report to NISA.
*1 Welding company inspection
The company inspection for the welding defined in the Article 52 of the
Electricity Business Act, to meet the technical standards established by
METI by the Article 39 Paragraph 1 of the Act, and to be conducted before
starting operation.
