We sincerely apologize to residents residing near the power stations and
the general public for the tremendous inconvenience and anxiety that has
arisen on account of the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power
Station and Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station.
We have been making every effort to provide swift and fair compensations
to concerned persons in accordance with the Nuclear Compensation System
including the Nuclear Disaster Compensation Law. Today we make an
announcement on the following 3 points.
1.The second sending of application forms to corporations and sole
proprietors
The second round of permanent indemnification period for damages
confirmed from September 1 to November 30, 2011 has commenced and
application forms for individuals have been sent out (already announced
on November 24, 2011). Today we start sending out and are now open to
application forms (appendix) for corporations and sole proprietors.
Those who have not applied for the first compensation (from March 11 to
August 31, 2011) are eligible to apply for it by these application forms.
2.Commencement of permanent indemnification to persons engaged in
agriculture and forestry within the designated evacuation area
Application period for provisional compensation to persons engaged in
agriculture and forestry within the designated evacuation area ended on
December 4, 2011. Application arrived from today will be treated as
applications for permanent indemnification. The amount paid as
provisional compensation will be deemed to be a part of permanent
indemnification.
3.Indemnification standards for reputation damages of service business
While ratio of decrease of sales caused by the factors other than the
nuclear accident (mainly the Great East Japan Earthquake) from the time
of occurrence of the earthquake to August 31 was set as 3% in
indemnification standard for reputation damages of service business,
ratio of decrease of sales in and after September in the second
application of indemnification has been set as 0% since the impact from
the earthquake has gradually decreased.
