We have periodically measured radioactivity of the air and seawater near
the power station, environment samples such as the soil and pine needles
as analyses of environment samples*. While we have detected slight amounts
of radioactive materials such as cesium and iodine emitted into the air by
the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, they are below
the level to give significant effects on the surroundings.
(Previously announced on April 13, May 13, 26, June 14 and 23)
We reported the measurement results of environment samples for 1Q to
Niigata Technical Communications Conference. Then we have received the
evaluation on the report from the conference which has concluded that no
influence by Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station has been confirmed
and that the detected artificial radioactive materials will not make any
impact on human health. The measurement results and the evaluation results
are as attached.
We will continue to measure radioactivity of the environment samples
periodically.

* Analyses of environment samples
We periodically conduct surveys on radioactive materials contained in such
as seawater near the power station, soil, pine needles and milk in
accordance with the "Agreement regarding ensuring security of the area
surrounding the nuclear power station" (known as "Security Agreement").
