Press Release (Aug 11,2011)
(Notice) Operational commencement of gas turbines donated by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)
In order to uphold our "Zero Blackout Policy", maximum efforts are being
applied to ensure stable power supply and the speedy construction of power
supply facilities within the grounds of our thermal power stations is
underway. Amidst this whirlwind of activity, we are proud to announce that
we will be commencing operations of the gas turbines temporarily provided
by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

The generous donation of these gas turbines is the result of a longstanding
friendship between Thailand and Japan and a cooperative MOU entered into
between EGAT and TEPCO in 1998. The turbines have been installed at Kawasaki
Thermal Power Station and Ooi Thermal Power Station.

As TEPCO in close collaboration with the Japanese Government and through
the combined energy-saving efforts of all members of society strives in
many ways to stabilize power demand and supply balance, this most
considerate gesture of goodwill is highly welcome and greatly appreciated.
