We have been conducting seismic safety evaluation along with the revision
(hereafter "New Guide") of "Regulatory Guide for Reviewing Seismic Design
of Nuclear Power Reactor Facilities", based on the instruction* from
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Nuclear and Industrial Safety
Agency. We compiled the interim report of seismic safety evaluation of the
reactor building and major S class facilities which have important roles
for safety in Unit 2 of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station, and
submitted it to Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (hereafter "NISA").
(Previously announced on April 3, 2009, and April 19, 2010)
-Interim Report concerning Seismic Safety Evaluation along with the
revision of "Regulatory Guide for Reviewing Seismic Design of Nuclear
Power Reactor Facilities" of Fukushima (Revision, submitted on April 3,
2009)
-Interim Report concerning Seismic Safety Evaluation along with the
revision of "Regulatory Guide for Reviewing Seismic Design of Nuclear
Power Reactor Facilities" of Fukushima (2nd Revision, submitted on April
19, 2009)
After the submission of the interim report, in the process of the further
evaluation we continued, we found that some errors in the analysis model
used for the evaluation and therefore evaluation results of 2 out of 7
facilities covered in the interim report needs correction. We reported the
above to NISA accordingly.
We confirmed that the corrected evaluation results also show there are no
seismic safety issues and that there are no similar problems in other
plants of TEPCO.
