Thanks to the strenuous efforts of the government and the many other 
individuals concerned, the enactment of the Nuclear Disaster Compensation 
Law was realized today. 

Under the framework of the nuclear disaster compensation system that 
includes this Law, we will endeavor to compensate the afflicted in a fair 
and prompt manner based upon guidelines to be established by the Committee 
for Adjustment of Compensation for Nuclear Damage Disputes in conjunction 
with support from the government, while also securing a stable power supply.
