On June 1, 2011, we received the instruction document "Collection of
report on installment of treatment facility and storing facility of
water including highly concentrated radioactive materials at Fukushima
Daiichi Nuclear Power Station"*1 from Nuclear and Industrial
Safety Agency (NISA) of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Subject to this instruction, we put together a report on installment
of treatment facility and storing facility of water including highly
concentrated radioactive materials, and reported it to NISA.
(Announced on June 2 and 9, 2011)
NISA has confirmed the above mentioned report, and evaluated that,
with prevention of treatment facility leaks, maintenance of earthquake
proof safety by preventive measures for falling over, etc, installments
can be implemented as an emergency measure. Accordingly, we have
decided to start the commissioning using water including radioactive
materials, as soon as preparation is completed, based on the procedures
we have reported.
Also, we have received the instruction document "(Instruction)
Regarding installment of treatment facility and storing facility of
water including highly concentrated radioactive materials at
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station*2" on June 9.
We are to work appropriately, subject to this instruction.
(Announced on June 9, 2011)
Based upon the above reported contents, we have been dealing with the
accumulated water containing highly concentrated radioactive
materials in the Centralized Radiation Waste Treatment Facility. As
we have confirmed that the whole water treatment facility is in the
operatable condition, we would like to announce that we have summarized
the situation of storing and treatment of accumulated water containing
highly concentrated radioactive materials, and reported it to NISA,
subject to the instruction from NISA on June 9.
