In accordance with “Roadmap towards Restoration from the Accident at
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station”, we have decided to install
a cover for the reactor building of Unit 1 of Fukushima Daiichi
Nuclear Power Station in order to prevent the diffusion of
radioactive substances and are going to commence main construction in
the site on June 27th.

Today, from Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency of Ministry of
Economy, Trade and Industry (NISA), we have received an instruction
document* entitled "Instruction to report on installing the reactor
building cover and ancillary facilities for Unit 1 of Fukushima
Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of Tokyo Electric Power Company"
Pursuant to this instruction, with regard to installation of the
reactor building cover for Unit 1 of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power
Station, we will summarize the contents of the plan to install it and
evaluation on the effect of decreasing the volume of radioactive
substance emission and safety and will report them to NISA by June
23rd.
