TEPCO has summarized and hereby announces the outlook of weekly power
supply-demand balance of four (4) weeks of June (starting from June 7).
Thanks to widespread understanding and cooperation for conserving
electricity, the outlook of June indicates that, as of now, the power
supply capacity will exceed the forecasted maximum power demand. Thus,
we anticipate, in principle, continuing to avoid implementation of
rolling blackouts.
As there are, however, possibilities of unplanned shut-down of aged
thermal power stations due to such as continuous operation or sudden
demand increase due to extremely high temperature, which may cause
difficulties in securing supply-demand balance, we will steadily implement
measures for additional power supply in order to avoid rolling blackouts.
We sincerely regret causing anxiety and inconvenience to our customers,
and appreciate your continuous understanding and cooperation in conserving
electricity.
