One month has passed since the occurrence of unprecedented natural
disaster today. We sincerely express our heartfelt sympathy to the people
who were affected by the disaster.

We would also express our sincere apologies to the Japanese people for
causing great concern, anxiety and inconvenience due to the trouble at
Fukushima Daiici Nuclear Power Station. We are sorry especially to the
people who have lived in the power station surrounding area for causing
great suffering and inconvenience both physically and mentally.

We have been conducting work at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station
to cool down each unit (1 to 4) to achieve cold shutdown and to prevent
diffusion of radioactive materials in to the environment as soon as
possible. We have received a wide range of support and assistance from
our national government and related Ministries, domestic and
international manufacturers general construction companies, foreign
governments and companies from various countries including United States 
of America, French Republic and cooperating companies.

With regard to the rolling blackouts which have been implemented since
March 14th to avoid broader and severer regional blackout, we have
decided not to implement it. Closely cooperating with the government and
requesting customers to reduce electricity consumption, we will continue
to make utmost efforts to avoid the rolling blackout even in summer time.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Cooperatively working with the national and local governments and having
aid from outside experts, we will concentrate all our resources to
resolve this difficult situation and dedicate ourselves to the
restoration and the support of the affected communities.
Continuously, we will strive hard to achieve steady supply of
electricity.
