The Launch of the "Technical Cooperation Project on Sustainable Promotion of Energy Conservation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" - Implementation assistance of the master plan for energy conservation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia -
The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc. (TEPCO) has signed a technical consulting 
contract with the Ministry of Water and Electricity (MOWE) in the Kingdom of Saudi 
Arabia (KSA) for a project titled "Technical Cooperation Project on Sustainable 
Promotion of Energy Conservation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia".

As an entrusted consultant of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in 
February 2009, TEPCO established a master plan for energy conservation in the KSA to 
last until 2030 and proposed targets, policies and basic plans for promoting energy 
conservation. In implementing the master plan, MOWE requested of TEPCO to provide 
continuous technical support resulting in the conclusion of the said consulting contract.

The scope of the project covers technical assistance in the carrying out of various 
energy conservation measures such as the establishment of the Energy Management System 
and the successful dissemination of relevant technology to concerned ministries, 
universities and industry in the KSA through live seminars and hands-on training.

Through this collaboration, TEPCO seeks to strengthen the institutions, frameworks, 
and technical capabilities of all parties concerned in the KSA and moreover hope that 
the efforts invested will not only reinforce the nation's stable supply of electricity 
but also contribute to future economic growth..

TEPCO, through the utilization of our technical expertise and know-how will continue 
to vigorously promote overseas business such as consulting services to contribute to 
the development of the nations of the world.
