The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Unit No.6 (ABWR: 1,356MW) had been shut down since
the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake occurred on July 16, 2007. On August 25, 2009, we started
a series of functional tests for the entire plant.
After having performed various pre-planned tests and confirming these results to be satisfactory,
we began withdrawing control rods at 2:31 p.m. today and started up the reactor.
We will raise the reactor pressure to approx. 3.5MPa and perform pre-planned tests carefully.
We will disclose test evaluation results accordingly.
