The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) hereby announces that TEPCO has
signed on June 1 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Saudi Electricity Company, a
government-affiliated electric power company of Saudi Arabia, with the purpose of pursuing
mutual exchange and cooperation in the field of electricity business.
The cooperation MOU results from the request of Saudi Electricity Company for continuous
exchanges based on the technical cooperation called the "Master Plan Study for Energy
Efficiency in Saudi Arabia", entrusted to TEPCO from February 2007 to March 2009 by Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
TEPCO and Saudi Electricity Company will carry out mutual exchanges and cooperation in
various fields such as stable supply of electricity in generation and distribution sectors,
promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy as well as exchanges of information
through periodical visits to each other.
TEPCO hopes that developing the relationship of the two companies will hopefully lead
to future cooperation projects in Saudi Arabia, and contribute to strengthening the
relationship of the two countries.
