Status of the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (as of May 21st)
We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and nonconformances 
at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake. 

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ◇ Inspection and restoration completed between May 15th to May 21st, 2009 
    (Completed on the following date) 

   - Unit No.6 Primary containment vessel closure work: 
       May 20th 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Inspection on raising the reactor pressure
     to approx. 7.0MPa): 
       May 14th 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Inspection after activating a main turbine 
     generator): 
       May 15th 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Inspection after temporary main generator 
     synchronization): 
       May 20th 

 ◇ Inspection and restoration to be commenced between May 22nd to May 28th, 2009 
    (To be commenced on the following date) 

   - Unit No.3 Inspection of power supply input transformer of the primary loop recirculation 
     system adjustable speed drive (Transformer (B) carrying in and installation work): 
       May 25th 
   - Unit No.3 500kV power cable inspection (Preparation work for laying cables): 
       May 20th* 
   - Unit No.5 Turbine inspection (High-pressure turbine and low-pressure turbine (A) (B) (C) 
     detailed inspection): 
       May 25th 
   - Unit No.5 Seismic reinforcement works (Seismic reinforcement works for reactor building 
     overhead crane): 
       May 28th 
   - Unit No.6 System functional test (Reactor building airtightness inspection): 
       May 26th 
   - Restoration work of filtrate tank and demineralized tank on Arahama-side (Restoration work 
     of No.1 demineralized tank): 
       May 26th
