We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and nonconformances 
at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake. 

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ○ Inspection and restoration completed between January 30th to February 5th, 2009 
    (Completed on the following date) 

   • Unit No.6 Control rod drive inspection (Disassembly and inspection of the 
     control rod drive): 
      February 3rd 
   • Unit No.7 Turbine inspection (High-pressure turbine and low-pressure turbine 
     (A) (B) (C) detailed inspection): 
      February 3rd 
   • Unit No.7 System functional test (23 items): 
      February 4th 

 ○ Inspection and restoration to be commenced between February 6th to February 12th, 2009 
    (To be commenced on the following date)  

   • Unit No.1 Seismic reinforcement works (Foundation improvement work of emergency 
     intake channel): 
      February 9th* 
   • Unit No.2 Seismic reinforcement works (Preparation for seismic reinforcement 
     works for the roof truss of the reactor building): 
      February 9th
