Status of the Inspection and Restoration Works Performedafter the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (as of June 26th)
We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and 
nonconformances at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after 
the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake.  

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ○ Inspection and restoration completed between June 20th to June 26th, 2008  
     (Completed on the following date) 

   • Unit No. 4 Main exhaust duct inspection (survey prior to restoration work): 
      June 20th 
   • House boilers inspection (Ohminato-side 4A): 
      June 20th 

 ○ Inspection and restoration to be commenced between June 27th to July 3rd, 2008  
     (To be commenced on the following date)  

   • Unit No.2 Inspection of new fuel storage warehouse and new fuels in the warehouse 
     (inspection of new fuel storage warehouse): 
      July 1st 
   • Unit No.2 Inspection of new fuel storage warehouse and new fuels in the warehouse 
     (inspection of new fuels):

   • Unit No.4 Stack inspection (inspection of substructure of piles):

  Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection 
  and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo 
  Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing 
  incidents information reported from June 19th to June 25th, 2008.

○ Other Findings • Unit No.7 Visual inspection was conducted for forks of 252 rotor blades on the 15th stage of the low-pressure turbine (C) (126 blades each on generator-side and turbine-side). As a result, no damage was found. Additionally, non-destructive investigation resulted in an indication on the fork of a rotor blade on the turbine-side. Indication was not found on the generator-side.
