Status of the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (as of June 12th)
We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and 
nonconformances at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after 
the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake.  

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ○ Inspection and restoration completed between June 6th to June 12th, 2008  
    (Completed on the following date) 

   • Unit No.1 Inspection of new fuel storage warehouse and new fuels in the warehouse 
     (inspection of new fuels): 
        June 9th 
   • Unit No.1 Main exhaust duct inspection and restoration (survey prior to restoration work):
        June 6th 
   • Unit No.2 Main exhaust duct inspection and restoration (survey prior to restoration work):
        June 6th 
   • Unit No.3 Main transformer inspection (transportation into the factory): 
        June 6th 
   • Unit No.4 Main generator inspection (rotor transportation into the factory): 
        June 11th 
   • Unit No.6 Inspection of new fuel storage warehouse and new fuels in the warehouse 
     (inspection of new fuels): 
        June 9th 
   • Unit No.7 Reactor internal pump input transformer inspection (Electrical testing):

  Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection and 
  Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo Electric 
  Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing incidents 
  information reported from June 5th to June 11th, 2008.

○ Other Findings • Information on Nonconformances (those related to: the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake; Grades As, A, B, C, D; and non-graded)
• Unit No.7 As part of safety integrity verification of the reactor pressure vessel, pressure/leakage test was conducted on June 3, 2008 by increasing the pressure to about 3.5 MPa-half of that during normal operation. The test showed no abnormality. Leak-rate test of the containment vessel will be conducted from June 11 to confirm its leak-tightness.
