On July 25, The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc. (TEPCO) and Kashiwazaki-Kariwa
Nuclear Power Station have submitted the Report on Nuclear Facility Failures and
Electricity Related Incidents to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)
for four incidents that happened subsequent to the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki earthquake
on July 16, 2007.
On November 13, the METI Subcommittee on INES Evaluation released the result of
the interim evaluation for the four incidents.
In INES Evaluation the two of four incidents, which were relevant to Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki
earthquake, were evaluated as "0-" no safety significance. The rest two incidents
were out of scale.

It was established to evaluate incidents at nuclear facilities based on INES
from experts' technical perspective.
2. INES evaluation is conducted by the INES Evaluation Subcommittee based on INES
(INES:International Nuclear Scale).
