2. Nonconformances Found in the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after
   the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake

   Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection
   and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo
   Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing
   incidents information reported from November 1st to November 7th, 2007.

 ○ Incidents Information (relating to the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake)
<Reports from Nov. 1 to Nov. 7, 2007>
○ Other Findings • Unit No.7: Inspection of the reactor well is scheduled from November 2nd to 11th. Minor scratch leading to a leak was found in two places yesterday. We will continue inspecting the reactor well including the area not yet inspected, while making temporary repair of the confirmed scratch and preparing for the in-core inspection. • Unit No.7: The control rod that could not be pulled out initially was removed on November 1st and 2nd, and was disassembled and inspected November 3rd to 7th. Detailed inspection, measurement and analyses of the labyrinth seal and ratch mechanism did not reveal any anomaly (such as foreign material or a large damage) that could specify the cause of the malfunction. Based on results of the investigation, the cause is presumed to be of a temporary nature. However, we will inspect equipment on the reactor-side (control rod, fuel support, fuel guide) as well. • Information on Nonconformances (those related to: the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake; Grades As, A, B, C, and D; and non-graded)
