We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works (from October
14th to November 10th, 2007) and non-conformance at TEPCO´s Kashiwazaki-Kariwa
Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake.
1. Inspection/ Restoration Status
○ Inspection and restoration completed between October 12th to October 18th, 2007
Unit No. 1 Reactor combination building B5F level leakage water disposal:
Floor cleaning completed on October 12th
Unit No. 1 House transformers (1B) oil extraction and internal inspection:
Inspection completed on October 12th
Unit No. 1 Excitation transformers oil extraction and internal inspection:

the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake
Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection
and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo
Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing
incidents information reported from October 11th to October 17th, 2007 and the
occurrence status of nonconformances (that have been deliberated) reported from
October 4th to October 10th, 2007.

We will make a monthly announcement regarding the status of the restoration
and progress of "the drum soundness verification work at the solid waste
storage facility" (commenced on October 9th).
Unit No. 2
Conducted the visual inspection of the inside of the spent fuel pool with
the removal of the underwater work platform (removed on October 17th).
Confirmed 2 minor scratches on the legs of the work platform and a minor
scratch on the wall of the pool (planned to be completed on October 18th).
Unit No. 6 and 7
Confirmed a crack inside the discharge canal concrete of Unit No. 7 during
its inspection.
