Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) announced that in light of the revised
Electric Utility Industry Law effective as of April 1, 2005, TEPCO has
integrated its former Connection Supply Agreement and Transfer Supply
Agreement to establish the Wheeling Supply Agreement, and today notified the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of this change. Below is a summary of
the notification.
Connection transmission service fees
Connection transmission service fees are fees paid by specified-scale
electric utilities for the use of the TEPCO network to supply energy
within the TEPCO service area.
Connection transmission service fees, calculated to reflect the Review of
the Handling of Fees Related to Power Wires (*1) and the Abolishment of
Transfer Supply Fees (*2) based on the Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry ordinances, are indicated below.
Please note that the electricity supply at extra-high voltage is ¥2.57/kWh
on average, while supply at high voltage is ¥4.89/kWh on average, which
amounts to a discount of ¥0.07/kWh (2.65%) and ¥0.10/kWh (2.00%),
respectively.

(*1) Review of the Handling of Fees Related to Power Wires
As costs associated with the electric transmission and supply
network, costs related to power wires
were formerly spread out among all customers within TEPCO-supplied
areas. From now on,
however, costs will be borne by power suppliers as those responsible
for transmission and supply.
(*2) Abolishment of Transfer Supply Fees
To revitalize the distribution of electricity, TEPCO will abolish the
transfer supply fees charged for the supply of electricity across
different supply areas.
Note: These fees have been calculated by reflecting the changes in
electric power development promotion tax which is associated with
the reform of the energy taxation system.
Please note that the above purports to be an accurate and complete
translation of the original Japanese version prepared for the convenience
of our English-speaking audience. However, in the case of any discrepancy
between the translation and the Japanese original, the latter shall
prevail.
