Revision of the Electricity Rates

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) announces a revision of rules and rates for 
electric service as of April 1, 2002, in which electricity rates are reduced by 
7.02% on average.
We also revise service charges of wheeling.
The main feature of this revision is as follows:

The average reduction rate against current electricity rates is 7.02% with the annual 
reduction amounting to 282.9 billion yen. To achieve this reduction, we fully 
incorporated future cost savings (approximately 250 billion yen p.a.) resulting from 
current and further efforts in improvement of management efficiency thoroughly 
implemented throughout the company.

The following chart shows the revised unit price and the revision ratio.
The average reduction rate against the current electricity rates is 5.37% for Lighting 
(mainly for residence), and 8.60% for Power (mainly for industrial and commercial 
customers). Thus, the average reduction rate for Lighting and Power is 7.02%.

Note; These revised unit prices shall be applied to customers who use either Lighting, 
Low-Voltage or High-Voltage power services.
