TEPCO's Views on the Third Meeting of the Council on the Global Warming Issue

The Third Meeting of the Council on the Global Warming Issue was held on April 22 at the Prime Minister's office under the chair of Mr. Hiroshi Okuda, the senior advisor to Toyota Motor Corp. The following is a summary of the statement made by Tsunehisa Katsumata, the president of TEPCO,
at the occasion.

President Katsumata underlined the key issues in the TEPCO's attempts to contribute to the nation's measures against global warming, while reassuring that achievement of targets set for Japan in the Kyoto Protocol is essential to solve the global warming issues (i.e., to realize a low-carbon society) and that Cool Earth Promotion Programme presented by Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda should serve as a framework to show the direction in the future.
