The vertical Francis water turbine and generator at the Shinanogawa Power Station

Which part of the generator is the waterwheel?
Silver part below is the waterwheel. By waterpower, the waterwheel rotated and the waterwheel rotated the attached power generator to generate electricity.
This means upper part is a power generator.
That’s right! Look the waterwheel carefully. There are wear and tear caused by small stones flowed in with water.
The power of water is amazing!
The water turbine and generator were used at the Shinanogawa Power Station, which was constructed in 1939. The Shinanogawa Power Station was a conduit type power station that used abundant water resources of the Shinano River, which originates with the Chikuma River. With its five water turbine generators, the power station attained Japan's largest output of 165 MW at that time. The exhibit is the No. 2 water turbine generator, which was removed when the power station was completely remodeled in 1996. The main part of the unit was processed for the exhibition by incorporating into a structural model.
